Khaled Al-Dosari, the Qatari Ambassador to Libya, has expressed his country’s support for the United Nations envoy Abdullah Bathily in his efforts to advance the political process and achieve stability in Libya.
During his discussions with Bathily, Al-Dosari emphasized the importance of supporting the political track in the country and the relevant Security Council resolutions. He also noted that Doha supports all peaceful solutions that preserve Libya’s unity and stability.
The discussions come after UN envoy Abdullah Bathily called for a round table bringing together the five main actors to reach a solution to the outstanding contentions related to the elections. The Qatari Ambassador’s affirmation of support for Bathily’s efforts was seen as a positive development in the ongoing efforts to resolve the disputes occurring in the country.
The UN envoy Abdullah Bathily has launched a tour to several regional countries including Qatar in order to rally up support for his dialogue initiative, which until now has not been approved yet by all the targeted stakeholders.
