Russian Deputy Foreign Minister calls for comprehensive Libyan dialogue

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, has called for a comprehensive dialogue to resolve the Libyan crisis.  

Bogdanov added, in a meeting with the former Libyan ambassador in the UAE and the Emiratis’ political arm in Libya, Aref Al-Nayed, that the status quo in Libya needs a political solution via an inclusive dialogue inside the country as soon as possible.  

Meeting Al-Nayed in Moscow, Bogdanov also called for speeding up the formation of a unified government in Libya.

Russia Today reported on December 08 that the Deputy Foreign Minister urged in a meeting with an official from the Interim Government of Abdullah Al-Thini for kick-starting negotiations in Libya and forming state authorities.  

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday reaching an agreement with Turkey to resolve the Libyan crisis after talks between Turkish and Russian experts. The talks resulted in agreement to continue contact over the situation in Libya to provide the necessary assistance to the country.
