The Petroleum Facilities Guard rejects any attempt to stop work at the facilities and stop the supply of oil and gas

The Petroleum Facilities Guard announced its complete rejection of any attempt to stop work at oil facilities, stop the supply of oil and gas lines, or infringe upon them, describing such actions as irresponsible actions.

It mentioned in a statement that what the protesters did by closing the Sharara field and stopping the production process was an act against the public interest of the state and the people.

It confirmed that its mission is to guard and protect oil installations in all parts of Libya, noting that the current stage is sensitive and critical and requires everyone to come together. The statement claimed legal responsibility against anyone who caused the closure of oil installations that are owned by the Libyan people.

A number of protesters in Ubari announced last Tuesday the closure of the Sharara oil field, until the rights of Fezzan are achieved, as they put it. Earlier on Monday, the people of Ubari organized a protest against the shortage of fuel and its derivatives in the south.

The locals demanded the implementation of the decisions issued regarding citizens with temporary records, the activation of the decision to establish the Southern Refinery, and the maintenance and construction of dilapidated roads.
