Two Russian military aircraft are reported to have been bombed in Libya

Radio France Internationale (RFI) has reported that a drone targeted a Russian Ilyushin military aircraft last June that was located at the Al-Khadim base in northeastern Libya.

In its report, RFI indicated another Russian military plane (of the same model), which was carrying electronic jamming devices on the runway of Al-Jufra Airport, was hit in mid-December.

The report mentioned that Washington accused Russia of using Libya as a base for organizing its activities in the Sahel region.

For its part, the AFRICOM command has denied to Libya Al-Ahrar the circulating news regarding its participation in the bombing of a Russian cargo plane at Al-Jufra Air Base.
