UK ambassador discusses Libya elections with Bashagha

The ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) in Libya, Caroline Hurndall, said on Twitter that she had met with the Prime Minister designated by the House of Representatives (HoR) Fathi Bashagha and his Foreign Minister-appointee Hafed Gaddour.

The British ambassador added that she was pleased to meet Bashagha and Gaddour on Friday to discuss how the UK can help support Libya get back on to a path towards free, fair and inclusive elections.

This meeting came after a meeting for Bashagha with both the German ambassador and special envoy to Libya in Tripoli, where they discussed elections and the current political stalemate.
