15 immigrant bodies found on borders between Libya and Sudan

The Libyan Anti Illegal Immigration apparatus said on Saturday that its teams had found at least 15 migrants dead in the desert on the borders with Sudan.

The apparatus said the immigrants were on their way from Sudan to Libya when their vehicle broke down due to lack of fuel.

It added that nine other immigrants had survived while two others remain missing in the desert.

There were women and children among the immigrants, the apparatus said, without saying any details on how many.

The apparatus also did not reveal causes of the immigrants’ death, but explained that they did not have enough food and water.

The Sudanese immigrants likely attempted to reach western Libya in efforts to board trafficking boats to Europe.
