Study in Libya to remain suspended for one more week over Coronavirus concerns

The Head of the media office of the Libyan Education Ministry, Abdelaziz Issa, has told Libya Alharar TV that study will remain suspended for one more week starting next Saturday amid the rapid spread of the Coronavirus in Libya.

Issa added on Wednesday that the suspension excluded municipalities from Sirte to Musaid (border town with Egypt) as well as southeast municipal councils.

“Excluding those municipalities was made by the Scientific Committee experts of the Ministry and the National Center for Disease Control, which both said that those areas didn’t see a wide-range spread of the pandemic.” Issa indicated.

He also reiterated that there will be a meeting next week in which a new deadline for resuming study will be set, or, if things remain the same or get get worse: a new suspension will be put in place.
