70 Libyan MPs accuse HNEC, judiciary of manipulating laws

70 members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have accused judicial institutions and the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) in Libya of failing to comply with the law and manipulating legal procedures, in addition to shelving evidence of forgery and bribes to influence judges’ decisions regarding the election process.

The HoR members said in a statement on Sunday that a session for the HoR will be convened on Monday, warning the HNEC against publishing the final list of presidential candidates until after the end of the session, in which the Chairman of the HNEC Emad Al-Sayeh along with the judges tackling the electoral process shall be questioned.

The 70 HoR members also indicated that the Monday session will be vital in saving the electoral process and making it legal so it can lead to stability and unification of institutions in the country.
