Al-Sarraj: Haftar’s aggression on Libya led to humanitarian deterioration

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj said human rights violations in Libya led to deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the country due to the offensive of Khalifa Haftar on Tripoli that started last April.

Al-Sarraj said in his address to the UN Human Rights Council that it is necessary to hold accountable those who are attacking hospitals, schools and airports.

He added that the latest attacks on Mitiga Airport and Tripoli port led to the killing and injuring of tens of people without any firm stance by the international community.

Al-Sarraj also said that Mahmoud Al-Werfalli’s field executions were evident of the criminality of the attacking forces in Tripoli, adding that the Presidential Council was ready to send monitoring committees to document violations.
