Bodies of drowned immigrants sent to Sabratha Hospital

A number of illegal immigrants’ bodies were sent to Sabratha Educational Hospital after a boat had capsized off the coast leading to the drowning of a number of them.

The media office of the Hospital said the emergency and ambulance department had received a number of injured immigrants as well.

The Hospital’s management called on the international community and the relevant local authorities to cooperate to raise awareness about safety and personal harm.

110 illegal immigrants of different African nationalities were spotted onboard two dinghies off northeastern Al-Khums coast, rescued by the Libyan coastguards and sent to the naval base before being transferred to relevant authorities for medical and humanitarian assistance.
