GNA military official: Haftar’s militias are deploying in eastern Abu Grein

The commander of Sirte-Jufra operations room Brigadier General Ibrahim Baytelmal has confirmed that clam is prevailing in Abu Grein town after it has been attacked by Khalifa Haftar’s militias with heavy artillery shelling.

Baytelmal told Libya Alahrar TV on Saturday that the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) forces are still in position in and around Abu Grein, adding that the room’s forces had depicted deployment by Haftar’s militias in eastern Abu Grein.

He also indicated that Burkan Al-Ghadab Operation forces under the command of the GNA were ready to repel any attacks by Haftar’s militias, especially after the human loss they had suffered in the recent clashes in Abu Grein.

In the meantime, the commander of Ain Zara frontline Yousif Al-Ameen told Libya Alahrar TV that there was a relative calm on the frontlines after Khalifa Haftar’s militias have breached the ceasefire more than once lately.

Al-Ameen said on Saturday that the forces under the command of the GNA had reinforced their capabilities on Ain Zara frontline and would be ready to repel any attacks by Haftar’s militias, adding that an uneasy calm had descended on the rest of frontlines in southern Tripoli and that Burkan Al-Ghadab forces would respond to any ceasefire breaches by Haftar’s militias.
