The spokesman for Khalifa Haftar’s forces, Ahmed Almismari, announced the launch of a large-scale military operation in the country’s south.
Almismari claimed in his statement that the operation aims to secure the state’s borders, adding that it is part of expanding their control and influence over all territories in Libya.
The operation allegedly comes in response to what the region has been witnessing over the past few months, which the statement considered amplified instability in Libya.
The current military operation involves ground and air forces, and according to Haftar’s spokesman, would not stop before achieving what he described as the goals set by the leadership, meanwhile assuring that they respect the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of neighboring countries.
