Libya Alahrar TV correspondent said Khalifa Haftar’s militias had shelled Al-Akwakh Neighborhood buildings in Abu Salim in Tripoli, causing damage to people’s properties in the area.
Abu Salim municipality said Thursday that the shelling on its neighborhoods by Haftar’s militias has been ongoing for days, adding that the latest attacks set two cars on fire and caused damage to several residential buildings.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Abu Salim Abdelrahman Al-Hamdi condemned the repeated attacks on civilians amid the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak and the precautionary measures being taken in the municipality, calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to help end the systematic attacks on civilians in Tripoli.
He added that Abu Salim hosts a large number of displaced people due to the war in Tripoli, which makes such attacks by Haftar’s militias more vicious and atrocious.
