Following the lifting of sanctions… Libyan C130 Plane is to be returned from Malaysia

The Libyan Asset Recovery and Management Office (LARMO) has announced the forthcoming return of a Libyan C130 aircraft from Malaysia.

This follows successful negotiations with the US State Department regarding the Malaysia-based airplane, which occurred on November 6. The achievement marks the process of negotiating the return of multiple airplanes and ships to Libya from various countries.

LARMO has called for easing sanctions on Libyan assets abroad. Mohamed Al Mansali, the Director General of LARMO , advocated for endorsing the strategy of gradually retrieving neglected Libyan assets abroad.

Al Mansali said during a speech at the International Bar Association conference held in Paris that Libya’s frozen assets abroad have incurred annual losses of more than one billion US dollars, which affects the country’s capability to face the ongoing humanitarian challenges.
