Libya, Egypt stress need for achieving joint security

The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, met with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in Belgium on the sidelines of the African-European Summit and discussed the need to achieve security and stability in Libya, which would reflect on the security of Egypt.

The meeting, according to Menfi’s media office, saw discussions on bolstering bilateral relations as Menfi hailed the role played by Egypt in regaining stability in Libya through opening communication channels with all political parties in order to rally them around holding elections.

The Egyptian President said his country will continue to support the political process in Libya and the efforts to unify state institutions as well as national reconciliation in order to achieve stability and security in the country, in addition to continuing with consultations with the Presidential Council to ensure holding free and fair elections in Libya.
