Menfi, Meloni discuss Libyan-Italian friendship agreement

The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, stressed in his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the importance of the Italian-Libyan friendship agreement signed between the two countries in 2008.

Menfi also discussed with Meloni the need for the completion of the Emssaed-Ras Ajdair road, and the ongoing consultation between the two countries in the areas of combating terrorism, immigration, and unifying the Libyan military institution.

He also stressed the importance of the entry of Italian companies into all parts of the country, especially the existing reconstruction projects in the east, west and south.

Meanwhile, Meloni stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of education, scientific research, health, sports, investment and reconstruction, in addition to the files of illegal immigration and organized crime.

She also stressed Italy’s keenness to support the political process in Libya and engage positively to achieve the desire of Libyans to hold elections.
