Military Prosecutor asks HNEC to halt Saif Gaddafi, Haftar’s presidential candidacy

The Libyan Military Prosecutor called Sunday for the halt of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi and Khalifa Haftar’s candidacy for presidential elections in a letter to the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), saying they have to be under investigation for accusations of crimes filed against them.

The Military Prosecutor, Mohammed Gharouda, added in his letter to the Chairman of the HNEC, Emad Al-Sayeh, that the HNEC will bear the legal accountability for violating the order issued by the Military Prosecution regarding the two candidates.

The HNEC said Sunday Gaddafi had submitted all necessary documents for presidential elections candidacy in a Sabha HNEC center.
