Pro-Haftar Russian Military build-up resumes around Sirte and Jufra

A source from Jufra has told Libya Alahrar TV that the area between Sirte and Jufra is seeing military mobilization and build-up for Russian Wagner Group as well as Sudanese Janjaweed mercenaries.

The source, who asked to remain unnamed, told Libya Alahrar on Monday that Russian Wagner Group and Sudanese Janjaweed mercenaries, supporting Haftar’s militias, had moved from Jufra toward Sirte in patches.

The source indicated that about 100 vehicles moved toward Sirte on Monday morning, including vehicles carrying heavy weapons and Russian Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft systems.

This comes as warlord has so far rejected the duo announcement of ceasefire by the Head of the Government of National Accord Fayez Al-Sarraj and the Speaker of the Tobruk-based House Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh, in which both asked for end of hostilities and demilitarization of Sirte and Jufra, in addition to expelling foreign mercenaries.
