The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies reassures Derna has not yet recovered

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has called for urgent support to meet the essential needs in Libya, especially psychological and social support.

Tamer Ramadan, the head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies mission in Libya, added that the recovery process in Derna has not yet ended and should not be overlooked given the scale of the catastrophe and the loss of entire families due to floods.

The Federation has officially launched an emergency appeal to raise 10 million Swiss Francs to support the Libyan Red Crescent’s efforts. However, only three million Swiss Francs have been reached so far, which means that 70% of the funding needs have not yet been met.
