The Minister of Economy and Trade, Muhammad Al-Hawaij, urged major Chinese companies to enter the Libyan market and invest in strategic projects.
This came during his meeting with Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of China to Libya Liu Jian, where he called on China to build bridges of communication with the African market by designing and building international highways towards the African market and establishing free and special economic zones.
Al-Hawaij pointed out that the Libyan government is looking forward to benefiting from industrial technology in the renewable energy sector and providing energy reserves to feed the European market, as Libya is located on the thermal line that supplies such projects.
The Minister also extended an invitation to the Minister of Commerce of the Republic of China to visit Libya to discuss establishing strategic cooperation in areas of common interest.
Al-Hawaij called on the Chinese side to hold an economic forum that includes business owners and companies from the two countries, accompanied by an exhibition of Chinese industries and products in the state of Libya.
In turn, the Chinese Chargé d’Affairs expressed the desire of major Chinese companies to enter the Libyan market, praising the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and working to develop it towards horizons that serve the interests of both countries.
