The Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) has unanimously elected Al-Siddiq Al-Soor as the new Attorney General in a session held on Tuesday.
The Libyan HoR selected Al-Soor out of eight candidates from the judicial authorities nominated by the Supreme Judicial Council for the position of the Attorney General.
The spokesman for the Libyan HoR, Abdullah Bliheq, said that Al-Soor got the majority vote of the session and was endorsed as the new Libyan Attorney General.
Meanwhile, the member of the HoR, Mohammed Al-Raied, told Libya Alahrar TV that the High Council of State had sent the HoR a written consent to the selection of Al-Soor.
Al-Soor has been for years occupying the post of the Head of the Investigation Bureau at the Attorney General’s Office.
