China expresses desire to resume commercial partnerships and investing in Libya

During his meeting with the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires to Libya, Liu Jian, Economy Minister Mohamed Al-Hawaij welcomed China’s desire to resume business activities and complete investment projects, stressing the importance of the role of major companies in investing in Libya.

For his part, Liu Jian expressed his country’s desire to implement investment projects and open direct communication channels between the Chinese Embassy in Libya and the institutions affiliated with the Ministry to organize official visits and bilateral meetings that include business owners and chambers of commerce with the aim of creating real partnership opportunities between the private sectors in both countries.

The Libyan and Chinese Ministries of Economy agreed in December last year to form a working group of departments and affiliated entities to establish a joint working mechanism to facilitate the return of economic and commercial activity between the two countries.

The Ministry also discussed a joint working mechanism for the return of major Chinese companies to work in Libya to overcome difficulties and review the memorandums of understanding and agreements concluded in the past and amend them for the benefit of the two countries.
