Discussions with PGNiG to resume activities in Libya

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) and the Polish Oil & Gas Company (PGNiG) have discussed lifting the state of force majeure and resuming exploration activities in Libya.

The two sides deliberated on the company’s activities during 2023 and on technical proposals for 2024, with a focus on seismic surveying and exploratory drilling. The discussions also included the resumption of operations in Block 113, which is located between the Ghadames and Murzuq Basin. The NOC and PGNiG are expected to resume their collaboration in the area soon.

In related news, O. Austria’s MV group has announced that it will resume exploratory drilling operations in the blocks awarded to it next February. This comes after the Algerian company Sonatrach announced the resumption of its activity in Libya last October.
