LCA announce implementing ECTN system

The Libyan customs authority (LCA) announced implementing the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note system (ECTN) that allows tracking all imported goods across Libyan ports, through an electronic tracking code.

In a statement Friday, it said that all imported products coming into Libya via ports are required to provide the (ECTN) code number, it’s an international document issued by inspecting company, and used to verify goods and the authenticity of related documents.

According to the statement, the authority firmly informed all importers, exporters, ship owners, shipping and customs agents, and all who use the Libyan ports that the new electronic system goes into effect starting from January 2021.

“The authority also allowed the release of goods that arrived before that date, asking owners to adhere to the new tracking system without any violations”, it added.
