The spokesman for the Libyan Army, colonel Mohammed Gununu, has confirmed that the forces under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) have destroyed eight military vehicles, including two Nimr ones from the United Arab of Emirates (UAE).
On Friday, the spokesman for the Libyan Army under the command of the GNA added that the forces also destroyed a tank for Khalifa Haftar’s forces on Al-Khallatat and Airport Road frontlines in southern Tripoli.
Gununu revealed that GNA forces had captured six militia fighters and recovered as many as nine bodies as the clashes raged on between Burkan Al-Ghadab Operation forces and Haftar’s forces.
“Our forces repelled attacks and attempts to advance by Haftar’s forces into the administrative borders of Al-Zawiya city.” Gununu explained.
Al-Zawiya was the scene of multiple airstrikes on Thursday and Friday by foreign aircraft backing up Haftar’s forces, according to the mayor of the city. The airstrikes left three civilians killed and more than a dozen injured.
