Libyan Chief of Staff on five-day visit to Russia

Libyan chief of staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, is due to travel to Moscow on July 10 for a five-day visit, according to Africa Intelligence.

The website said Al-Haddad will be received by the Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoygu, as well as the the Vice-Minister Alexander Fomin.

It added that the visit comes only a few days after the arrival of the Algerian chief of staff of the armies, Saïd Chengriha, in Russia, where the Libyan issue was discussed.

Africa Intelligence added that a ministerial meeting devoted to the situation in Libya is also due to be held at the United Nations Security Council in New York on July 15 in the presence of French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian as well as the Head of the UN Mission ( UNSMIL ) in Libya, Jan Kubis.
