Menfi reiterates keenness to hold Libyan elections on time

The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, met with the President of European Council, Charles Michel, in Tripoli on Sunday, and reiterated keenness on holding general elections on time.

The President of European Council, Charles Michel, reiterated the support for Libya to regain peace and stability as well as for the Government of National Unity to hold elections on time, stressing the importance of Libya’s stability for the entire region.

Menfi hailed the role of the EU in support stability in Libya, discussing more cooperation in issues of illegal immigration and maritime border security.

Michel arrived in Tripoli Sunday morning and met with the new executive authority officials, including Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush and Head of Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi.
