The Audit Bureau and the Government agree on the need to rationalize spending and adhere to transparency standards

Khaled Shukshuk, head of the Audit Bureau, stressed the need to cut down spending and complete development goals in a manner that is consistent with the requirements of the current phase.

This came during a meeting he held with the head of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdulhamid Dbeibah, to discuss the Bureau’s remarks on government performance.

Shukshuk emphasized the importance of not expanding new contracts at the expense of allocations for ongoing projects, as well as adhering to transparency standards, disclosing spending and completion of projects.

For his part, Dbeibah revealed reform measures taken by the government based on the recommendations mentioned in previous Bureau reports. The two sides agreed on the need to prioritize strategic projects and provide the necessary support to complete them while adhering to the approved timetables.
