UAE provides Haftar with 3000 tons of military equipment in two weeks

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has provided Khalifa Haftar without about 3000 tons of military equipment in two weeks, French website, Intelligence Online reported on Friday, adding that this backup equals the whole backup of last year from Abu Dhabi to Haftar.

Intelligence Online said the transfer of the military backup from the UAE to Haftar in eastern Libya was done by Jenis Air, that is registered in Kazakhstan, on board “Antonov An-124 Ruslan” owned by the Emirati Crown Prince under the registration of Maximus Air Cargo firm, which is also believed to have participated in sending military equipment to Yemen war.

The French website said the UAE’s reinforcements of Haftar militias’ capabilities comes in line with the UAE’s formation of the “Libya Cell” to monitor the situation in Libya.

The report also says that the Russian support for Haftar has become more of a stance-based backup than an on-the-ground one as Russian President Vladimir Putin decreased his support for Haftar as part of Berlin negotiations.
